Outdoor Walking and Camping Gear Reviews
Read all the latest Mud and Routes outdoor gear reviews, both walking and camping, split into handy sub categories for your convenience.

Our outdoor gear reviews include almost anything that has an outdoor slant, from waterproof jacket reviews and boot reviews, to outdoor tech and walking pack reviews, we’ve got you covered.

We always review outdoor gear honestly and we strongly believe in testing in proper conditions, on the hill, usually in Snowdonia, not on the side of some grassy car park. We prefer to review fewer items, in more detail, with the exception of anything edible.

MRE 24 Hour Ration Pack Review

On a recent wild camp, we decided to see if these 24 hour ration packs are any good or are you better off avoiding them altogether. We went for this one by Evaq8 that cost around £16 with postage. What’s in it? The ration pack arrived in a tidy brown box and contained a generous selection […]

Astronaut Ice Cream Review

Vango Storm Shelter 400 Review

The Vango 400 Storm Shelter is an essential bit of kit of you’re walking in a group in foul weather, especially if you’ve got any kids or even newbies in the group. These group shelters pack to nothing, well about the size of a honeydew melon (it’s always got to be comparable to a fruit for

Karrimor Monsoon Mid Boot Review

We’ve used all sorts of boots at M&R and our experience with boots at the cheaper end of the market hasn’t always been positive. So our expectations for these Karrimor Monsoon Mid Waterproof boots wasn’t particularly high to start with considering the RRP of £69.99 and a general availability around the £50 mark. They boast
