Nature Trail / Llwybr Natur – Padarn Country Park Walk

The Nature Trail is a short woodland walk in the Padarn Country Park in Llanberis. It may be a short walk, but looking at the elevation profile below you can see that it’s steep enough in parts!

The Route

A straightforward walk in the Padarn Country Park following the green waymarks. Starting off at Gilfach Ddu, you can go via the quarry and then you’re soon on the steep uphill into the oak woodland. There’s plenty of natural history on this trail and it’s well worth picking up a guidebook if you really want to know what you’re looking at. At the highest point, there’s a wonderful view of the lake before descending again to the old quarry hospital. You can return to the car park via the Vivian Quarry which is flooded and is now popular with divers. There’s loads more info at these links: Downloadable Info Sheet  Padarn Country Park
