Extremities Women’s Primaloft Mountain Glove Review
Nia Jenkins gives us her Extremities Women’s Primaloft Mountain Glove Review after her ascent up Mont Blanc . . .
I wanted a warm, durable and technical pair of gloves for my trip to Mont Blanc last August so I popped into the Crib Goch shop in Llanberis to pick Dylan Jones’s brains! After explaining that I needed them for an Alpine climbing trip Dylan instantly advised me on the new Extremities Women’s Primaloft Mountain Glove.
First impressions…they’re stylish, comfy and they literally fitted me ‘like a glove’! I’m not a big fan of big, bulky gloves where your hands feel baggy and roll around inside – these fitted me perfectly and I could still manage to adjust my harness and put on crampons without the gloves getting in the way.
One of my favourite features is the leather palm, this came in really handy on technical scrambles at high altitude. The temperature was freezing at some points during the summit night so making sure that I had a warm enough glove but also one with plenty of grip was essential – this pair definitely did the job!
The warmth that these gloves offer is unbelievable, not at any time did I have to worry about cold hands (one of my pet hates as I suffer from Raynauds!) The extra thick PRIMALOFT provided maximum warmth but it was also complimented by the built-in breathable lining.
“Constructed with extra thick 10oz PRIMALOFT® insulation for maximum warmth”
Overall, I would highly recommend these gloves for anyone who’s venturing out into the cold mountains this Winter. They offer warmth and durability but are also super lightweight and breathable. They’re also perfect for some technical scrambles and getting geared up without being too bulky.
In my opinion, these are high-quality winter gloves and have been designed with great technical features. These should definitely be on your Christmas list this year!
The Extremities Women’s Primaloft Mountain Glove is of course made by the well known Terra Nova Equipment and here’s what they say
“Designed and fitted specifically for women’s hands the Mountain Glove is a very warm and waterproof technical glove”
