Man who go 4×4 stuck on Snowdon was.. wait for it…. A Recovery truck driver…
Reality is stranger than fiction – from the BBC:
An out-of-work vehicle recovery technician has been charged with dangerous driving after a 4×4 vehicle ended up near the summit of Snowdon.
Initially Craig Williams, 39, from Gloucestershire, faced charges relating to driving on moorland or common land on 4 September.
Note – “out-of-work vehicle recovery technician”. In typically understated BBC style, they then mention no more of it.
You couldn’t make it up… If he was trying to set up a new company in that field, then I’d like to imagine that it’s a publicity stunt that has gone horribly wrong. I wouldn’t want to know how much he’d want to charge for that one.. “That’s a £300 call out charge, £5 a mile and, lets say£500 ridiculous situation surcharge sir? Well there is another option, it’s called the crusher..”
Of course, it’s probably just a coincidence, but one that made me chuckle at any rate.
