A Walk up Garth Hill from Taff’s Well
This is an easy ramble that’s accessible from Cardiff as it starts from Taff’s Well railway station. At only a tad over 300m, it’s not a hard hill to ascend but has wonderful views despite that.

We also recently climbed Garth Mountain from the Taff’s Well starting point. It was a pleasant walk, although not particularly challenging. What we did like is the fact that the walk took in a little bit of everything. We experienced river views, peaceful country lanes, to a treeless Garth offering up 360-degree panoramic views for miles around. What’s more, it is just a stone’s throw from Cardiff, making this a hike that’s accessible to many people. An enjoyable few hours and well worth doing, even if it’s just the once.
