About Walking in Derbyshire

Derbyshire is one of England’s finest counties for walking. It includes the lion’s share of the English Peak District National Park, which covers the north west of the county. This includes such classic walking areas as Edale, Hope and Castleton and Ladybower Reservoir. The primary hills of Kinder Scout and Bleaklow of the Dark Peak can be found in this county as well as the gentler walking country around the White Peak.
