You may have realised that there’s now free weekend bus travel in Wales on some long distance routes –
I’m wondering if this might well work against what Welsh Govt is trying to achieve. They think this will encourage people to travel on the bus. Now anecdotally, as we haven’t any data, the bus that travels through Caernarfon and Snowdonia always looks quite full whenever it passes. Getting people to travel on an overcrowded bus doesn’t seem like the best way to get them to use more public transport.
If they introduce some sleek and comfortable double deckers or increase the number of buses, then they might be onto a winner. What do you all think?
