I’d like to reach a summit in north Snowdonia with children.

I’m not sure we would definitely make it to the summit of snowdon, especially with the weather at the moment.

What would be an alternative with impressive views?

    Hi Vikki,

Here’s a rundown of some lower summits in Snowdonia that have some great views and a good start.

It really depends what other mountains or hills you’ve done with them previously? If you know your way around a mountain, but you want something a bit more manageable for the little ones then you’ll have a load more options.

    Thank you.

Do you think Glaslyn on the Miners track or Moel Elio is easier / more rewarding / has better views?

Glaslyn, on a good day is as impressive a walk as you’ll get – and the track is good all the way. That it doesn’t end on the summit might disappoint though.

Moel Eilio will feel more like a mountain – more of an achievement, and with open views to the hills all around then it might feel more rewarding.
