Super Bars!

Creative Nature Bars

Always on the lookout for a good snack to take with me to the gym, cycle or a hike up the mountain I came across the Creative Nature Bars, and it seems these aren’t just any ordinary bars, these are SUPER BARS!! *disclaimer, they don’t turn you into a Super hero just in case I get disgruntled emails!

Let’s kick off with the question you’re all asking, who are Creative Nature? They’re a Superfood specialist based in the UK. A young company with strong ethical identity they strive to provide the highest quality natural products while also ensuring they’re sustainably farmed ethical and 100% recyclable.

What they say

Let Nature Be Your Guide . . . a collection of pure, raw unprocessed natural products, some of the most potent healing foods on earth.

The bars in question are perfect to support a regular healthy diet. Cold pressed to lock in all the added vitamins and minerals of the Superfoods, without the need to add sugar, syrup, honey or anything else to try and improve the taste. No wonder when the products in question claim to be sourced from the wildest and untouched areas of the earth, with undamaged soil rich in nutrients and no traces of agro chemicals!

Taste test

The bars come in 38gram mini form, and in four distinct flavours each containing the nutritious Superfood, which can claim to be 100% Raw, 100% Natural, Vegan, Vegetarian, GMO free, dairy free, wheat free, soya free, lactose free, and low in saturated fat.

We passed them around the team to try, the spec and feedback for which is below:

Blissful Berry

What they say:

A great bar to pick you up and dust you off when you are feeling low on energy or drive.

Ingredients: Dried fruit (apricots, cranberries, pineapple, Goji Berries), oats, sultanas, vegetable glycerine, natural flavouring.

What we say:

A pleasant taste all told, and we actually felt a boost of energy while on a slow un-motivated Monday gym session!

Heavenly Cacao

What they say:

A healthy, lower fat alternative to cocoa/chocolate bars, with an added fruity kick.

Ingredients: Sultanas, oats, dates, cranberries, vegetable glycerine, Goji Berries, Cacao Powder, Cacao Nibs, Cacao Butter, Maca Powder, water.

What we say:

Cacao is a great cocoa substitute in every sense; this bar has a great taste and less of the guilt associated with your average choc bar!

Sublime Seed

What they say:

A higher protein but exceptionally tasty bar that fits perfectly in your sports bag or handbag!

Ingredients: Roasted Peanuts, dates, sunflower seeds, sultanas, Hemp Protein Powder, vegetable glycerine.

What we say:

The go to option for the athlete, a great taste and my personal favourite, seeds add great texture and dates add a satisfying stickiness.

Tropical Treat

What they say:

A detox bar with lavish overtones of ginger and Pau D’Arco to perfectly compliment the tropical tastes.

Ingredients: Dried fruit (pear, pineapple, papaya, apricots), oats, ginger, coconut, vegetable glycerine, Barley Grass Powder, Pau D’Arco, lemon juice.

What we say:

This was the overall least liked of the bunch, although it did split opinions! It was for some overpowering in ginger, and consequently the preferred taste of pineapple and coconut was lost.

Cost

On the official website you can get a hold of 12 bars for £15.12, or buy 2 x 12 packs for a discounted £28.22, which works out as £1.18 each bar. You could also buy on a single bar basis for £1.60. Although I have seen them being sold at Holland and Barrett for as little as 99p per bar, which is a steal with the amount of goodness you get packed into it!

Verdict

Perfect snacks to support a healthy, active lifestyle, pop in your gym bag, hiking pack or even in your packed lunch for those taxing days at work! While there are a lot of bars out on the market at the moment, these bars offer a little extra and to be honest they deliver what you need, and all with a 100% natural approach.

The website claims to have had great responses from GB Olympic athletes and their nutritionists, along with triathletes, and marathon runners. Let’s face it if it’s good enough for GB Olympic athletes, it’s good enough for us! So go ahead, be Super and give them a try, and please come back to us or leave a comment below so we can hear your thoughts.

Remember these bars are just the tip of the Creative Nature Superfood iceberg, so go on over to http://www.creativenaturesuperfoods.com/ and have a good look.
