Woodland Walk – Taith y Goedwig – Padarn Country Park

Following on from our walk around Llyn Padarn, this is woodland family walking route from the Padarn Country Park in Llanberis. This is an easy, if steep in places, woodland walk that is ideal for the family. It also makes for a tough, but short trail run, so long as you go at a quiet time.

The Route.

Starting off from the Gilfach Ddu car park, follow the Yellow waymarks through the park.

You’ll pass the old quarry hospital, it’s outside toilets (no longer in use!!) and plenty of beautiful woodland on this walk. There are some wonderful viewpoints of the lake and once you’ve finished the steep climb, a lofty walk above the Vivian quarry makes the ascent worth it.

You finally descend past the old barracks (just off to the left) and the old Zig Zags path used by the quarrymen before arriving back at Gilfach Ddu.
