Wild Wales – George Borrow’s Ascent of Snowdon
A historical insight into the walk up Snowdon. George Borrow sets off on an epic journey from Bangor to Caernarfon and then onwards to Snowdon in one day and mostly on foot. He even makes it back to Bangor that same day.
Borrow claims to have ascended and descended in 4 hours, which is a decent time, if not quite an achievement for a 60 year old (which was close to ancient in Victorian times) used to walking on the flat.
