The Brenig Way

The Brenig Way is a mid level walk in North Wales that takes you from Corwen to the upland reservoir of Llyn Brenig. It has been established by Denbighshire council and is a promoted route for walkers in this quiet and rural part of the county.  Starting off along the Dee Valley, and visiting the villages of Cynwyd, Maerdy, Bettws Gwerfyn Goch and Cyffylliog on the way. Finally through the forests of the Clocaenog Forest before finishing off along the shore of Llyn Brenig on Mynydd Hiraethog.

Along the route the walk takes you through varied landscapes, with steep sided river valleys, ancient archaeology and views across to the Clwydian hills.

At 50km, this is a comfortable 2 or 3 day walk or a really challenging day’s outing!

The biggest issue is getting back to the start, but there is a limited bus service.
