Walk up Skiddaw via Sale How and the Jenkin Hill Path

This walking route up Skiddaw starts from the centre of Keswick. It’s a meandering route up Glenderaterra Beck along the Cumbrian Way, passing the remote Youth Hostel at Skiddaw House before ascending the minor top of Sale How en route to Skiddaw’s summit, one of the few Munros Furth of Scotland. Staying at the hostel and ascending from there makes a proper weekend out of the walk.

This route descends Skiddaw via Jenkin Hill, the popular and easier ascent up Skiddaw from Keswick. Details of that direct route can be found here.

Parking :

In Keswick or park at the car park at Gale Road to cut out around 5km and a few 100m ascent from the walk.
