The Roaches and Lud’s Church Walk
The Roaches in The Peak District are a gritstone escarpment that’s well known as a climber’s paradise, but it’s also good walking country. Rising to 505m, the views can extend to Snowdon and Winter Hill in Lancashire, but obviously only on a good day!
This route extends the interest further by including Lud’s Church, a deep chasm that has reputed to have hidden half the historic fugitives in the UK; from Bonny Prince Charlie to Robin Hood.
