A Walk up Great Knipe in the North Pennines
This summit is less than 1km from the busy A66 dual carriageway, but owing to it being MOD land it still provides a sense of remoteness. It’s short, but noted as a hard walk as there’s a good degree of off path navigation needed.
Ensure you read any signs and warnings on this route – which follows a rotue recommended by the MOD. It’s probably a good idea to follow this advise lest you be captured as a POW in some mock battle.
