Circular Walk up Bowfell, Esk Pike, Allen Crags and Rossett Pike

This is a classic Lake District circular walking route that soaks up the finest views in the Lake District around the head of Great Langdale, culminating on Bow Fell and the views across to the Scafells.

Starting off near the Old Dungeon Ghyll, the walk climbs Bowfell via The Band. It’s then across to Pike de Bield and Esk Pike before a descent to Esk Hause. Another short climb to Allen Crags and it’s back down hill to Angle Tarn. You could cut the walk short at this point by returning along the bridleway to Great Langdale. This walk instead continues along Rosset Pike before picking up the Cumbria Way to return to the start of the walk.
