NEW from Mammut: Lightweight Winter Warmth

Staying comfortable in the great outdoors over the winter months is all about ‘balance’.  Get it wrong and it can be uncomfortable and even dangerous, get it right and you’re left to enjoy your day in the hills – as explained in our All About Layering article.  This winter, Mammut has introduced new products that combine low weight and protection from the elements to keep you warm, dry and above all, comfortable – all day.

Mammut’s new ‘Go Intensive’ range is perfect for stop-and-go activities where intense activity can be followed by a period of rest.  Mammut combine natural and synthetic fibres and use ‘body mapping’ to help regulate body temperature in different areas – Mammut for optimum comfort.

Key pieces from the range, available for men and women:

Go Intensive T-Shirt Men [SRP £40] and 3/4 Pants Men [£45] – pictured right: lightweight, highly functional baselayers for winter in the great outdoors.  The Merino wool/polyester mix work together towick moisture away from the skin and keep the body comfortable.  A contoured cut provides a snug, but not tight, fit. A longer back panel on upper body garments lowers the risk of cold spots.  The antimicrobial treatment prevents odour.  Available styles: zipped longsleeve tee, short sleeved t-shirt and three quarter length pants.

Mammut’s new down jackets are the perfect partner to the baselayer range.

The ultralight men’s Broad Peak Light Jacket and women’s Miva Light Jacket [SRP £175] – pictured right: weigh in at only 280g and 250g respectively.  With a water-resistant Pertex® Quantum outer they can be used as an outer or mid layer and the fill of 40g 90/10 goose down has a 850 cuin power to keep Mother Nature firmly on the outside.  When you’re not using it, it can be stowed away in one of the four pockets. The athletic fit makes these jackets ideal for mixed / ice climbing, winter hiking or ski touring.
