Evenings are finally a getting lighter!

Finally, after the long, cold winter, it seems that the evenings will soon be ours again. Next week onwards, daylight till nearly 8pm means that all the local hills are midweek options once more. You’ll hear people moaning that they lose an hour in bed, but you gain an entire summer in walking, biking or running!

All of us here are just hoping that the Double Summer time will get passed for next year (about the only positive point about this lot in power), extending the evening walking season by a month each end i reckon. Hopefully it won’t get scuppered this time by those strange individuals who enjoy getting up in the morning when any reasonable person’s still wrapped up warmly in their duvet, trying to work out if they’re going to take a sicky or not…

Bwlch Main on Yr Wyddfa has given us the usually elusive Brocken Spectres on a number of occasions, but only during the evening as that’s when all the conditions are suitable. This is about the only time, along with an inversion, when you’re actually glad to see the couds!
