True Mountain – First Look
The wonderful guys and gals at True Mountain have sent us some of their kit to try out. So here’s a first look at the kit, before we really put them through their paces in the Welsh winter hills over the coming month!
True Mountain are a new company that produce all their kit here in the UK, which is a novelty to start with, ensuring that you’re buying reasonably locally. In their own words:
True Mountain is a brand that produces performance outdoor apparel in the UK (Preston, Lancashire if you want to be exact). We only use materials and components sourced in the EU, and as much as possible comes from the UK.
We’ve been supplied a couple of Windproofs – the Ultralite Jacket and the Stretch Windshell that have been out and about on a couple of runs and walks so far, with a comprehensive review to follow.
Long Sleeve Baselayers – To begin with, they’ve got thumb loops, so that’s a massive “yey!” in their favour. So far, they’ve been out on a Christmas day run, some windy low level walks as well as a full on winter day on Yr Aran.
Beany and socks – These come packed in a sealed bag, so if you don’t finish them the first time, you can seal them and they keep fresh. No, that can’t be it, not after my feet have been near them.
