The North Face Vault 28 Litre Padded Daypack Review

Nia Jenkins has been out and about on day walks, cycles to work and climbing sessions and brings us the North Face Vault 28 Litre Padded Daypack Review.

Lighweight, durable and incredibly comfortable, this versatile daypack has got you covered for a busy day at school, work or play.

I’ve been using The North Face Vault 28 Litre Padded Daypack mostly on the hills for short walks, for climbing sessions and for cycles and it works great for all occasions.

This daypack has 2 compartments – one large compartment and then a secondary smaller compartment that has internal organisation with a secure zipped pocket, Velcro pocket and pen pockets. This secondary compartment is great for the ladies for stashing essentials and the pen pockets are a perfect fit for your SPF lip balm!

Even though a 28 litre daypack sounds small, I was surprised at how much I could fit inside. Recently on a climbing session I managed to get my harness, climbing shoes, chalk, spare clothes, water bottle and a lunchbox in the large compartment alone. The water bottle pockets on the side make a big difference too, and allow more room inside the pack for your kit if you need it.

If you’re out in the dark, especially on roads, its always important to wear some reflective clothing. This daypack includes a reflective bike-light loop, reflective water bottle tabs and reflective shoulder straps which create 360-degrees of reflectivity!

I would give The North Face Vault 28 Litre Padded Daypack full marks for comfort, the moulded shoulder straps and padded air mesh back panel make the pack very comfy to wear and the straps sit on your shoulders rather than digging in. I’d never used a daypack with ‘FlexVent‘ compression before and I noticed a huge difference. There’s nothing worse than a sweaty back when you’re out on the hills and I’ve definitely not suffered from that whilst using this daypack. That’s down to the padded air mesh back panel and the spine channel that gives you maximum support and ventilation.

Another great feature is the floating 14″ laptop/tablet padded sleeve – I’d never usually carry my tablet/laptop in a daypack but because this sleeve is fully padded and secure I’d definitely feel comfortable carrying it around with me. This sleeve is also a perfect size for carrying an OS map!

Overall The North Face Vault 28 Litre Padded Daypack is a great lightweight daypack that I will be definitely using more of on hill days, climbing sessions and cycles! P.S the colors are very quirky too!
